Do we need non-linear corrections? On the boundary Forchheimer equation in acoustic scattering

چکیده
Abstract This paper presents a rapid numerical method for predicting the aerodynamic noise generated by foam-like porous aerofoils. In such situations, particularly high-frequency sources, Darcy’s law may be unsuitable describing pressure jump across aerofoil. Therefore, an inertial Forchheimer correction is introduced. results in non-linear boundary condition relating material to fluid displacement. We aim provide quick, semi-analytical model that incorporates effects without requiring full turbulent simulation. The scheme implemented based on local Mathieu function expansions, leading spectral well-suited both linear and conditions (including more general than correction). latter case, Newton’s employed solve resulting system of equations unknown coefficients. Whilst physical simplified consider just scattering thin aerofoil with no background flow, when included good agreement seen between predictions experimental large eddy simulations. It found sufficiently low-permeability materials, inertia can outweigh attenuation viscosity. helps explain discrepancy previous (linear) low-fidelity simulations or analytical predictions, which typically overestimate reduction capabilities

Over a billion of Muslims fast worldwide during Ramadan each year. Through this religious custom, fasting contributes to their health as well as their spiritual growth. However, available evidence regarding the health-benefits of Ramadan fasting is scarce and highly contentious. Although Islam exempts patients from fasting, many fast conceivably, and their clinical condition is prone to deterio...
متن کاملStaff Burnout… Do we need any intervention?
Dear Editor, As you know physical and mental wellness of physicians and nurses, as the main role in the treatment of patients, in conditions such as burnout, compassion fatigue, depression, and poor work-life balance, is one of the top priorities in the U.S.A. National Academy of Medicine (1-4). Although healthcare team members are generally known as a caregiver to others; their h...
متن کاملDDH Epidemiology Revisited: Do We Need New Strategies?
Background: Although the developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is well known to pediatric orthopedists, its etiology has still remained unknown and despite dedication of a vast majority of research, the results are still inadequate and confusing. The exact incidence of DDH and its relationship with known risk factors in Iran is still unknown. Here we represent the results of one year study o...
